In 2017 SWIFT arranged for free business training to the founders, directors and owner operators of companies based in South Waikato. In 2018 it was decided that the business training course participants would need to contribute 10% of the cost.

The business training is provided through a Learning Partnership with Firestation a central North Island business growth centre.

The initial round of busines training was close to fully subscribed. All participants found the materials and ability to network in a learning context was invaluable. The participants ranged from a local engineering company to a design build construction company.

Programme director Darren McGarvie, co-founder of Firestation attributes the success of the business training programmes to the focus on implementation and execution.

The success and uptake of the first round has led to the Learning Partnership being extended and an extra programme being offered.

Business people, no matter what stage they are at in their career or business development are encouraged to elect the programme that most suits them.
