The South Waikato Investment Fund Trust (SWIFT) was established in 2014, to foster sustainable economic and employment opportunities throughout the South Waikato district. SWIFT’s support falls into four main areas – business development and enablement; commercial finance; regional economic development; and optimising long term strategic returns from its perpetual fund.
This vacancy arises with the retirement of two existing Trustee. The SWIFT Trustees meet every month (with the intent to progress to bi-monthly meetings in 2023) and this is a remunerated position.
In making the appointment there is no requirement that the candidate resides in the South Waikato but it is essential that appointees are accessible, understand and have connections with the district and its unique challenges and opportunities.
Ideal candidates will have experience and capability in the following areas:
- Proven highly effective governance skills
- Very strong commercial, financial and investment acumen
- A technical understanding of property and development management
- A background having demonstrated innovative and strategic thinking
Candidates should be future-focussed and prepared to challenge the status quo, who have experience working under the principles and commitments of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We particularly encourage applications from Women, Tangata Whenua and Pasifika.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute at a governance level to the growth and prosperity of the South Waikato district.
