The Waikato Chamber of Commerce is reaching into the South Waikato, starting with an event covering software innovation, Pasifika business leadership, and egg production.
Businesses in the area are keen to grow and are eyeing wider connections, says the chamber boss in the wake of Wednesday’s networking launch event in Tokoroa, attended by some local legends and other successful Waikato-based business owners.
Speaking were David Hallett, co-founder of software innovator Company-X, Tjay Asiata, group chief executive of Pasifika-owned business strategy, training and recruitment business LM4 Group, and Gareth van der Heyden, chief executive of Better Eggs, one of New Zealand’s largest egg producers.
The event was supported by the South Waikato Investment Fund Trust (SWIFT) and Wintec/Toi Ohomai and brought together a range of local business people who were keen to tap into the advice and expertise offered by chamber members from all over the Waikato region.
Waikato Chamber of Commerce chief executive Don Good said with many more innovative businesses - especially in the forestry, engineering, home construction, social services and education sectors - establishing themselves in Tokoroa and Putāruru, the demand for better connections with regional, national and global companies has also appeared....
