Supporting Hauora, Strengthening Community

SWIFT were proud to support the 2025 South Waikato Community Hauora Day—an event led by South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services (SWPICS) that brought together an incredible range of free health services under one roof. From cardiac screening and cervical smears to diabetes checks, vaccinations, and even newborn enrolments, the day was all about supporting the wellbeing of our whānau.

This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, building on the success of 2024. The Hauora Day offered something for everyone, with over 25 different health services on site, including support for mental health, family violence, stroke education, and smoking cessation. It was also a great opportunity for unenrolled clients to connect with a GP and access key health checks in a safe, welcoming environment.

SWIFT’s support for this kaupapa reflects our commitment to holistic community development. We see wellbeing as foundational to economic and social success—and events like these help break down barriers to access, empower families, and connect people to the services they need.

It was awesome to stand alongside so many local and regional partners, including Te Whatu Ora Waikato, Tokoroa Hospital, Raukawa Charitable Trust, and Pinnacle Inc, all working together to create a healthier South Waikato.

And of course—no community day is complete without kai and giveaways! Free refreshments and interactive activities made the day engaging and fun for all ages.

We mihi to SWPICS for their leadership and care in bringing this important event to life. Supporting community-led initiatives like this is part of what drives us at SWIFT—because thriving communities start with healthy people.
