Clive Somerville became Chief Executive Officer of the South Waikato Investment Trust (SWIFT) in January, 2025, bringing experience in banking, technology, and community development. His leadership is defined by a deep commitment to nurturing opportunities that drive economic regeneration, intergenerational well-being, and social resilience in South Waikato.

Clive has a track record of building meaningful partnerships and delivering transformative initiatives.  He has worked in leadership of the community sector, focusing on empowering young people and fostering community development. His blend of financial expertise, technological insight, and strategic vision enables him to empower innovative solutions.

With family roots in Okoroire, Putāruru, and Rāhui Pōkeka, Clive’s ties instill in him a profound sense of belonging and purpose, which he channels into his work.

Alongside his professional life, Clive is an avid cyclist, outdoors enthusiast, and family man who values the rich heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand.  He finds joy in exploring and cherishing time with his wife Laura and their two daughters.
